Agnes Varda is the beacon of this new edition of the Cannes film festival. I wanted to raise her to the maximum. The sea as far as the eye can see, Agnès Varda overlooks all of Cannes. She left us last year and it was obvious, she had to be on the poster. I wanted to use very warm and saturated colors to represent this great lady. It is the first time that a woman behind the camera appears on the Cannes film festival poster and moreover, with a funny situation, she positions herself in balance on her assistant. I had a real crush on this photo when I came across it.
